Summerville is a beautiful town in Dorchester County, South Carolina. Summerville was settled after the Revolutionary War and became a township in 1847. Today, the town is bordered by North Charleston and Lincolnville and spans more than 18 square miles with over 50,000 people populating the area, Summerville has named itself the “birthplace of sweet tea.” With summer highs in the low 90 degrees Fahrenheit and the winter highs in the low 50 degrees Fahrenheit, residents are able to enjoy their various activities year-round.
The Flowertown Festival is a community event in Summersville that occurs every year in the spring; this celebration draws in a large number of people from all over. Homeowners are encouraged to spend time outdoors with friends and family and can do so at the Club at Pine Forest or the Summerville County Club golfing their days away. Families enjoy time at Wassamassaw Park and Azealia Park or along the Sawmill trail. Located by the US-17 and the I-26 there are a plethora of nationally known restaurant chains as well as retail stores.
